Truckee Tribe Youth Lacrosse Club
The purpose of the Club is:
To provide an opportunity for all children eligible for membership to play and compete in the game of lacrosse and develop as players;
To promote physical fitness and good patterns of physical development and to encourage proper conditioning and health habits;
To provide opportunities for social, emotional, and educational development and to encourage peer and family participation; and
To promote good sportsmanship and respect for the game of lacrosse.
The Tribe's Youth program currently serves players from ages 4 through 14, or roughly Kindergarden through 8th grade.*
We are a recreational program, focused on serving children of all experience levels and ablities.
We offer both Boys and Girls programs, with age divisions at the 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U levels, i.e. 6 years of age and under, 10 years of age and under, etc.
The Tribe plays within the High Sierra Lacrosse League (HSLL), facing teams from Tahoe City, Reno, Sparks, and Fallon.
Practices begin early-March, weather permitting, with regular season games beginning mid-March and running through the first week of June.
The Truckee Tribe Lacrosse Club (TTLC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, run by parent volunteers.
* A player's "age", according to USA Lacrosse and HSLL, is determined by his or her age as of August 31 of the summer prior to the season. As an example, a player who is 14 years of age on August 31, but who turns 15 before or during the following spring's season, is still eligible to play in the 14U ("14 and Under") age bracket, as long as he or she has not yet played at the high school level. In practice, HSLL allows us to expand that age bracket to players who were still 14 as of May 1 of the previous spring.
Our philosphy is we want kids playing lacrosse, so if any family needs financial help, please reach out to tribe@truckeetribe.club, and we will circle back in short order to discuss your situation, and come up with game plan to get your kids playing lacrosse!
Tribe Vibe!
