The Truckee Tribe is excited to offer a brand new Co-ed 6U Lacrosse program! Boys and Girls, ages 4-6, are encouraged to get their ya-ya's out while trying the game of lacrosse. This is going to be a super fun, super casual, super positive introduction to lacrosse in specific, and team sports in general.
Given the snow this year, we're still finalizing time and location, but here are the basics:
Boys & Girls born between 9/1/12 and 8/31/14
Six 1-hour "practices" on Saturday mornings
Dates: 4/13, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 6/1
Probable start time: 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM
Probable location: Riverview Sports Park
A Warrior Evo Mini-Warp lacrosse stick is included in registration -- a $40 value!
Registration is only $50 per player
Parents are strongly encouraged (pretty much required) to participate in practices to learn the sport and help herd the kids
US Lacrosse Certified Coaches: Pete Halberstadt (Level II), Tanner Halberstadt (Level I), Jack Bryant (Level II)
Practices will focus on fun and fundamentals. Kids will play with a real "mini" stick and "soft" lacrosse ball, i.e. no need for helmets, gloves, or pads. Cleats are recommended, but not required.
Additionally, we hope to have a special deal on Warrior adult starter sticks so parents can learn to throw and catch along with their kids. No pressure to do so, but those who commit to learning the sport will find it's incredibly enjoyable and are headed for years of hanging out with their kids, tossing the ball.
At the end of the regular Tribe Youth lacrosse season, we hope to have the opportunity for our Tiny Tribers to scrimmage 6U teams from the Reno area at the High Sierra Lacrosse League (HSLL) Youth Championships.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!
Simply click on the "Register Now" button to the right and make it happen. You will, however, be temporarily redirected to US Lacrosse because all "players" will need to be registered members. The annual fee is $35 for Youth, which covers both Spring and Fall seasons. That membership covers insurance and is required by the High Sierra Lacrosse Leauge.
The Spring 2019 Season is soon upon us! (the college season has been underway for a few weeks already) Before each season kicks off in earnest, we like to hold an Orientation Meeting for new families. It’s your opportunity to meet some of the coaches, the board of directors and volunteers who make the Tribe run smoothly. We will run through some of the key dates, and hopefully answer all of your questions. We will also be distributing rental gear at this event. As part of the Tribe's mission of making lacrosse accessible to as many kids as possible, we offer rental gear to those who do not yet have their own. This is primarily for our 1st-time players. Our hope is that players who are committed to the sport and know they'll be playing in the future will ultimately invest in their own equipment.
Due to the unrelenting snow, we have moved this meeting
2019 Spring Lacrosse Orientation Meeting
Thursdays March 14th, 5:30-8:00pm
TDRPD Rec Center, Rooms #1 and #2
If you'd like to rent gear, here's what you need to know:

Cost: Girls = $20 with a $60 deposit
Rental fees may be paid by cash or check
Deposits must be made by separate check made payable to Truckee Tribe Lacrosse Club
You must bring a check for Rental DEPOSIT. Cash has proven to be problematic as Tribe has grown
Deposits are 100% refundable upon return of all rented equipment in good condition
When: Thursday March14th, 5:30 to 8pm
Where: TDRP Rec Center, Rooms 1 & 2
As many of you are aware, some age groups are holding Pre-Season practices.
Given the snow, demand for practice space and the weather in general we will start club-wide, regular Monday thru Friday practice starting the week of 3/18.
The plan is to be on the ACMS Black-Top (basketball courts) a day or two and in a gym (Veterans Hall) a day or two. Please bear with us, the demand for gym space and snow-cleared fields is massive. Older age brackets will also be scheduling some practice in the Reno Sports Dome. Organizing and Scheduling this all is a challenge. (although the skiing is great)
Key Dates for Spring 2019 Season:
1/22/19 - Registration Opened.. Please register ASAP and get word out
(includes pinney, sticker and Warp Youth lacrosse stick)
Additional 6U Information:
Warp Youth Lacrosse Stick (included in $50 fee)
The Warp sticks require no maintenance or adjustment unlike all other available lacrosse sticks. Having a stick that is ready for play right off the shelf with no break-in or adjustment is critical to your child’s success and FUN factor.
Mouth guard (please make sure it is molded prior to first practice)
Spring 2019 Registration is now OPEN .. Yes Lacrosse season is just around the corner
Please spend a few minutes and age verify though US Lacrosse (also renew your child membership. Must be valid thru 6/9/2019)
Why Age Verification
US Lacrosse is working with youth leagues throughout the country to ensure that players are grouped appropriately to keep players safe and to help make competition fair. And HSLL is mandating it this season. Teams with unverified players, will forefit games..
Secure and Easy To Use
The new US Lacrosse age verification system is secure and easy to use. Age verification uses SSL technology, the standard for transmitting sensitive information online.
Steps to Verify the Age of Your Child
Scan or take a photo of your son or daughter's birth certificate or state-issued ID.
Click the button below and log into your USLacrosse.org account, not your child's.
Upload your scan or photo to our online system.
US Lacrosse will review your documentation, record the birthdate in our system and then permanently delete your uploaded document.
You'll receive a confirmation email, and you’re done. This is a one-time process that is good for the lifetime of your child’s membership.

All Tribe players now need to be age verified by US Lacrosse
AYSO does this as well, so most of you should be familiar with this
Only needs to be done once
US Lacrosse Age Verification
Prior to player participation, all youth players competing in or against HSLL programs will be required to have their age verified through the US Lacrosse Online Age Verification System. This includes a review of a birth certificate or other legal document to confirm a player’s birth date.
